Hallo,

my new DSO3104 works with USB connection, but not doesn't respond to Ethernet (without PoE),
either with PC-DSO3104 link, or PC-switch-DSO3104 link. Neither device can't see that there it DSO3104
connected to the other end of the cable. Is it normal or the oscilloscope should be seen?
Now I am going to try PoE. Is 48V power supply OK for PoE or should it be between 8V and 36V?
Please advise? Alexey

Dear sir,
Please confirm that whether your device have the module as the attachment.
LAN Connecti ...

Hallo Amy,

there is no such module in my oscilloscope (V43 00588).
Should it be installed as default or it is mere an option?
Any way, I think that PoE is out of question at the moment,
but should Ethernet itself work or it is tied together?
Also do you have an idea where could be obtained from
(the 'scope itself is from Aliexpress).

Hallo Amy,

I just got the reply from my seller, that the recommended
way is to send the 'scope back to him (and the factory), there the Ethernet module
will be installed, debugged etc. and sent back to me.
Seems complicated and long way. Before I will consider it, I would like to ask a question.
Currently, when I want to read out whole memory buffer (32Msamples for 4 channels), which is my main purpose,
I am forced to wait for about 1 hour for the process to complete via USB. What will you say - will it be faster via Ethernet
or not, because if it will be the same slow, then it will be useless to go for the upgrade.

Hallo Amy,

sorry, I am not asking about sampling rate. I already know (by experimentation) that if I set time base to 1mks/div i will get
the sampling rate 100MSamples/sec and that is what I want. So, no problems here.

What I am asking about is a transfer rate.
Lets say I set up my system for 4 active channels, 32MSamples memory depth, single trigger.
After that single trigger I will have 128MByte of data in the internal oscilloscope memory and I want to
save this data on my HDD in .wfm file. Now, via USB connection, it takes about 1 hour to to write the data.
Will it be faster if the oscilloscope is connected via Ethernet?
It depends entirely on internal working of the oscilloscope (how data transfered between the internal processor and the memory,
between the processor and the Ethernet interface, how efficient the Ethernet interface and so on).
Do you have such information?

Thanks,

A pity, really, but....
So there is no reason to try and add Ethernet module.

                           Thanks again, Alexey
