1.3.3 Probe Attenuation Setting
Probes are of various attenuation factors which affect the vertical scale of the signal.
Make sure that the Attenuation switch on the probe matches the Probe option in the oscilloscope. Switch settings are 1X and 10X.
When the Attenuation switch is set to 1X, the probe limits the bandwidth of the oscilloscope to 6MHz. To use the full bandwidth of the oscilloscope, be sure to set the switch to 10X.

1.3.4 To Adjust the Probe Compensation
Upon the first connection of a probe and an input channel, you should compensate your oscilloscope probes to match their characteristics to the oscilloscope’s channels. Uncompensated or overcompensated probe many result in measurement errors.
1. Perform the procedure of Function Inspection in section 1.2.5.
2. Check the shape of the displayed waveform.

3. If necessary, use a nonmetallic screwdriver to adjust the variable capacitor of your probe until the shape of the waveform turns to be the same as the above figure. The capacitor is located on the probe BNC connector.

Channel On/Off Key
Use this key to switch the channel on or off, or to access the channels menu in the soft-keys.
? CH1 MENU, CH2 MENU
Analog input channels. These 2 channels are marked by different colors which are also used   to mark both the corresponding waveforms on the screen and the channel input connectors.
? MATH MENU
To open the math operation menu, under which add, subtract, and FFT are provided.
Vertical Sensitivity (VOLTS/DIV)
Use this knob to change the vertical sensitivity (gain) of the channel. The vertical size of the waveform will increase or decrease to the ground level.

2.1.2 Horizontal Controls

Horizontal Position Control (POSITION)
When the oscilloscope is running, this control lets you set the acquisition window relative to the trigger point. When the oscilloscope is stopped, you can turn this knob to go through the data horizontally. This lets you see the captured waveform before the trigger or after the trigger. Press this button to reset the trigger point back to the screen center.

Press this key to access the menu where you can select daul-window mode and set the trigger time reference point (Mark) and select auto display (Play/Stop) on this mode, and where you can set up trigger holdoff time. You can also switch horizontal time/division and horizontal position between “Coarse” and “Fine”.
Horizontal Sweep Speed Control (SEC/DIV)
Used to changes the time per horizontal division on the display so as to adjust the sweep speed. When the waveform acquisition is stopped, turn it can stretch out or squeeze the waveform horizontally.
