Power On

Power On selects the state that is loaded at power-up. This can be either the state when the instrument
was powered down with the power switch (Last), a user-selected state file (User Defined), or the factory
default state (Factory Defaults).


Set to Defaults
There are two ways to set to defaults.
1 Press Set to Defaults softkey loads the instrument's factory default state.

Recall Settings

Recall Settings allows you to browse to the file to be recalled. Use the arrow keys to navigate to
the desired state file (*.sta) or preferences file (*.prf).

Press State Preference to select whether you want to store a state or preferences file, and press
Store State (shown above) or Store Pref (the softkey's label if you are storing preferences) to
store the specified file.
Action allows you to either store a file or to create a new folder.

Store Settings

Store Settings allows you to browse to a directory and specify a file name, and to choose whether
you want to store a state file or a preference file.

Utility - Store and Recall State and Preference Files

The Utility menu is shown below.

Press Store/Recall to save and recall state and preference files. In general, state files store volatile
settings associated with measurements. Preferences are non-volatile parameters associated with
the instrument, but not any specific measurement.

Step 3: Press the Calibrate softkey:



Step 4: (Optional step) Press the Edit Cal String softkey and enter the information for the cal
string message. Common messages include the last calibration date, calibration due date, or
calibration department contact information. When finished, press the Done softkey

Utility - Autocalibration  

Autocalibration compensates for drift caused by time and temperature changes in DC voltage and resistance
measurements, and adjust some aspects of other measurement functions.
To quickly perform autocalibration without editing the cal string message, press Shift > ACAL (Up Arrow) key.
Use the procedure below to use menus and softkeys to edit the cal string message and perform autocal

Step 1: Press Utility on the front panel.
Step 2: Press the Test/Admin softkey:

The [Utility] key is the shifted [Display] key:
[Utility] provides the following features:
Store and Recall State and Preference Files
Manage files, including creating screen shots
Configure LAN (optional on HDM3065B), GPIB (optional on HDM3065H), and SCPI
Perform instrument self-tests and firmware update functions
Configure the instrument's date and time and various user settings
