Lots of people are getting their devices stuck/frozen at boot because the settings became corrupted.
You are sending the Platform-tools, requiring a full system reinstall, then losing the Model, Serial number, in some cases also the signal generator calibration is lost.
Then there's the USB problem, caused because platform-tools filesystem has the file "dso/app/Square_cusp.tmp", which needs to be deleted to fix the issue.
Why is that file shipped with the recovery?
Your are causing a lot of trouble to your users, most of the time recalling system defaults would fix the issue, but as the software is crashing, there're no way of doing this.
So why don't implement simple way of resetting?
For example, holding down the Recall button while the system is booting?
So the first thing the software does is to check this button, before loading any settings.
If pressed, run a 5-10 second timeout to avoid accidental pressing, then reset the settings and erase all user files.
Shouldn't be hard at all and will make the life of users a lot easier.
