In 2021, I bought a new Hantek 2D72 from Banggood. It worked flawlessly so far. However, since I wanted to have German language on my 2D72, two days ago I tried to updrade the firmware of the device with a dfu file provided by the Joy-It for their model DMSO2D72, which seems to by identical with the 2D72. A very bad idea. ;)

According to your instructions I tried to upgrade the respective dfu file.

Unfortunateyl, after pressing the Upgrade button, nothing happenend after several minutes. So I broke up the process by quitting Dfuse. That bricked my 2D72. With inserted batteries, the power button only shows a red light, while with a plugged USB cable, it only flashes red. Nothing else happens. No further reaction on pressing the power und/or the F1 button.

I found several instructions on how to unbrick my 2D72 again (e.g. this one one Youtube), but they all didn't work with the respective files for flashing the bootloader (flash_loader_demo_v.2.8.0.exe,USB_Bootloader_V2.0.bin). Here you can see an original picture of my flashing setup using an FTDI USB to TTL serial adapter with VCC set to 5 V.

After pressing the Next button within the Flash Loader Demo program, I only got the message that the device couldn't be found. The PCB of my 2D72 is somewhat different from those shown in the internet. Hence, I wonder if I connected it correctly. Or do I require a different adapter and/or different flash files from those I used so far?

I really would appreciate your support.

Best regards,

Thorsten

The VCC is 3.3V, not 5V.
I think the chip U3 may be burned out.
The model of U3 is STM32F103VET6(ST). Please replace it to try.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Apart from using the wrong VCC, are my assumed pin configuration of the programming headers (CXX, GND, RX, TX) for the MCU and the bridging correct?

Regards,

Thorsten

By the way, would it be possible to purchase the complete MCU/display board with soldered SMD parts directly from Hantek or Banggood?

Hello, unfortunately, the support from Hantek wasn't a real help.

Meanwhile, I managed to flash the Boot Loader using my FTDI adapter with the following connectiion scheme.

Thanks amy.

I now have managed to upgrade the Joy-It Firmware, which uses English, German, and French as menu languages instead of English and Chinese, on my Hantek 2D72. The only thing that you need is an STLink adapter. If you are interested in how to up upgrade, please see here.

Joy-It has now provided a firmware that can be updated directly via DfuSe Demo. I have tested it with my Hantek 2D72 and the flashing process did work flawlessly.
