what about F3 in the black menu

In the recovery menu pressing F3 fails with an error on the screen

So I will never be able to restore device with the latest firmware and my settings... Can this be fixed?

The recovery menu is used to restore the system. Users generally do not use this menu. Update the firmware is in "Program Upgrade" of Utility.
