Hi there,
I was measuring a tube amplifier 120vac signal with the Hantek 2d42 wirelessly (no usb attached). I heard a buzz sound then the scope rebooted. No oscilloscope signal, but the AWG and DMM still work fine.

Would anyone have a clue what the problem could be?
Thanks.

Did you measure the 120vac with the DMM or with the scope?
If you did use the scope, did you set the ...

I used the scope, measured using the x1 not x10.

edit: i can't access the datasheet but I think i remember the max v input was 150V. This must be peak? Everything else works fine and i didn't smell smoke so maybe there's a limit somewhere i can replace?

Thanks.

Hi gf1 I only see a horizontal trace when I couple the inputs to ground.

Hi amy, thanks I'll try that tonight.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Hi guys,
So I tried resetting to defaults and it doesn't seem to fix it. When i move the channel to the top of the screen, then bring it back down, a ripply waveform follows it. As soon as I stop 'pulling' it down, it  'snaps' back to the top. I can do this with both channels.

Also when i push 'auto' i don't hear the relays clicking anymore.

I upgraded the firmware and fpga and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I've uploaded a video of this happening.

Thanks for you help.

Hi amy,
is there anywhere in Canada that I can return this for warranty. Shipping to China is cost prohibitive.

Thanks.

Hi amy,
is there a location that the engineer would suggest to look for the 'burned out' components?

Thanks.
