DSO5102P crashed - frozen with blank screen. 7 months old

Hi everyone,

My oscilloscope crashed yesterday and I see is a blank screen with some buttons illuminated. The scope itself is frozen in this conditin. I purchased it from Amazon.co.uk on 13th May 2018 and have hardly used it so I'm really surprised.

I've tried powering it ON/OFF yesterday, I've kept it OFF all night and still no sign of life. Does anyone know how to fix it? I've seen a few users have managed to open it up and flash the firmware using the built-in serial port. I have no problem doing this, but I'm not sure if it will fix the issue. It may also void the warranty, so I'm a bit hesitant right now.

The serial number is T1G/138 015351 and I've attached an image which shows the condition it is stuck in.



Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Hi, not yet.

I'm working with the support team and I've just sent them an email with the serial output. I'm waiting for a reply to see what's next.

I've now returned the item to Amazon and they will be issuing a refund. Time to look for a new oscilloscope
