Hi, the bugs have been modified in the latest firmware 2019082401.
Please check.

Hi Amy,

I am testing the FW version 2019082801, I notice that the bugs with the battery icon and AWG are fixed but got a new one: just activate the measurements and set the time base to anything faster than 100ns. You'll see a strip blinking on the screen over the measurements:

I also notice problems with syncronization of the data while controlling the scope with the pc software (I'm using v1.1.11) but I still need to test to see if the problem is in the FW or the software.

How do you calibrate all the DMM functions?

That is an interesting question but, why do you need to calibrate de multimeter? Normally, it is accurate from the factory, unless there is some problem with it, but then calibration may not be the solution.

There are some trimpots on the board for adjustments in the volts range but DON'T touch that if you don't have the right equipment to do a proper calibration, otherwise you will make things worse.

Some of the data maybe also be stored in a EEPROM, so probably not a trivial thing to do.

I work as the tech for a company here in the US. A customer sent back a unit after he bricked his after trying to hack it. I dumped the ROM from a new unit and reflashed the older one, but now it doesn't read correctly. Depending on the day, it can be off by +/- 5 Ohms, or 1/1000 factor.

I've also got a second unit where the person sent it back due to the resistance setting not being accurate. I replaced the CS7721CN, and now it's decently accurate, but the calibration is wrong. It's close, but not nearly as accurate as a brand new model.

I saw some of the data in the ROM, but without spending a bunch of time to reverse it, I thought it would be easier to ask. I imagine there is a simple setting that allows the factory to set these on test. If someone could assist me with that program, or procedure that would be great.

To a second point. It's extremely common for companies to calibrate electronics here in the USA, and eventually someone will need to know this. I contacted our vendor contact but haven't heard anything back yet.

I see now, maybe there are some calibration data in the ROM and it was overwritten by the dump from the other device. It would be helpful if Hantek can tell us how to calibrate them but, if you want to try, there are two trimpots beside the battery holder:

One is used to calibrate the AC modes and the other DC. I had to adjust them just once to calibrate the voltage ranges of a costumer's device (he had tempered with it). I notice that it also ajusted the current ranges, but I'm not sure now if the resistance mode was affected.

By the way, if you ever need to fix another bricked device, try to use these files that Hantek provided (instructions are included in the same file): https://www.filemail.com/d/cbjyxhacggoqbdc (save it soon, the link expires in a few hours).

I appreciate your help a lot. Very helpful indeed.

I wasn't able to click that link in time. I've included a link to my gdrive, if you wouldn't mind uploading it there.

I've saved a copy of the files. I haven't tested it yet, but if you want to tryit I uploaded a copy to here: https://fil.email/fD7VV1R0
