Title: DSO5102P bricked on main screen
Hi

Mi DSO5102P is stuck on the main screen after initializing with the message "Error: Fpga version does not math with the app!!"

I can not update firmware nor restore anything because there is no way out of this state. Since the power-up, the oscilloscope does not respond to any input

Appreciate any solutions

Having the same issue with the same scope. Seems to be a chronic issue with these. For some reason the firmware is corrupt and unable to finish loading.
I am hoping Hantek support will help with this as it just stopped booting.

Thanks, I thought I was the only one having this issue since I could not find any relevant content on the web. The frustraing part is that the unresponsive controls don't allow me to restore the firmware

All pins check out within spec. What is next?

PCB is different but I could see the same componentes, altough I could not get any clear voltage readings unfortunately (mV instead of V)
The 1kHz probe calibrator line on the other hand gives me a very wide range between 50 and 30kHz. Voltage is the same, can't get a significant reading (it gives me mV values)

Since all controls are on I don't trust my multimeter very much, but I could verify the frequency oscillations on the calibration line by comparing with a signal generator

No follow up from support on this issue? From my research, the issue is a corrupt firmware issue that I am hoping can be rectified via a file update procedure from Hantek.
Hope to hear something soon.

Hi, Downloaded the file and extracted to USB thumb drive formatted at Fat32. Ran it through the SD Cardmaker and shorted P5 as directed. It will not recognize the drive. I also noticed that the file you posted is for the DSO5202. Is this the correct version?

Is the 4GB SD card a hard limitation? I tried to flash with a 32GB card with a 4GB FAT partition but without success. Will try to get a card of that size

As for the tools, I really can't verify the process was successful when I prepare the card and I get the following error when trying to flash

I used a dedicated 4g thumb drive. They say SD card in the instructions, but I am assuming it goes into the USB port in the front?
Also, the instructions for setting up the card/drive is very vague.

Scope attempts to read the SD card but after a few seconds just goes to regular screen and gives error message and hangs.

Anyone help with this please?

I'm trying with a 2GB sdcard and it doesn't get recognized by the device, it's a black screen. The software does nothing at all and I don't have a way to know if anything happens or not

This is unusuable, I already had to get the trouble of creating an XP virtual machine and the 2GB sd card for nothing, please provide another bootloader version or way to format the sd card if available

Ok, will have to get a card of that exact size then and try again, right?

I finally got a 4GB card. The tools still don't look like doing anything to the copied files and I get the following error

I need advice to know if this is still recoverable and if so then some new way to make the sd card bootable (it that's the issue)

Please can I get support on this. It is unacceptable that an unit with less than 10 uses after months in its box suddenly breaks like this and the only option I get is a software without translation on an OS deprecated 8 years ago

I agree. Support here is terrible. I am on the verge of junking the scope.

I never expected support to be this bad... I will tell anyone to avoid this brand like the plague whenever I have the chance, this is atrocious

There is no support here. With some of the responses, It makes you wonder if we are being toyed with. Like I said in a previous post, one line answers and irrelevant jargon. Maybe time to just junk the piece of garbage and buy something of better quality. Lesson learned.

Author: lggomez    Time: 2022-12-8 04:06
So yeah, the support is absolute crap, I'm stuck with a 260 dollar paperweight and don't have the luxury a buying a new one. Email support directed me to the same support poster on this thread with no help of course.

Should have gone the extra mile and bought a quality brand like siglent or rigol, I bet they use at least windows 7 for their support tools
