Title: Hantek 6254EU Issues
Edited by hommadi2001 at 2019-12-27 20:10

Hello,

I have recently purchased the Hantek 6254EU PC USB Oscilloscope and I have a number of issues with it that I would like to discuss later. But last time I was using it, a new issue came which is very annoying:

I was using a "Pothos Flow" software for my software defined radio, which showed the Hantek USB Oscilloscope as a source option. So I tried it, the "Pothos" came back with errors and couldn't read the Oscilloscope. I then closed the "Pothos".
Then I wanted to use the hantek software again and it was only showing a blank page without any signals on the screen. And after a while complain that the "FPGA0.bin" file is not found. So I found the file "FPGA3.bin" in the Hantek sofware folder. I copied it and re-named it to "FPGA0.bin" in the same folder. This made the device working again but it now had a very strange noise issue which was not there before.

This noise is NOT at all present in the signal I am trying to measure, and happens on all 4 input channels no matter what is given to this channel (open, shorted, probing, 50hm terminated).
Information about this noise:
- Didnt happen when I was using the device before I tried this other Software.
- Not coming from the signal I am trying to measure.
- Not affected by BW limiting the input, or HF trigger rejection.
- When happening, the trigger doesn't to work properly.
- Seems like a software/firmware/eeprom issue.
- Disappears when increasing buffer length above 2.5K.
- Disappears when using Acq. Option "DPO" or "FastAcq".
- Tried to change USB cable, Port, un-install and re-install software, nothing helped.

Additional Information:Software Version Jul 5 2018
Driver Version 20170215
FPGA Version 1001
PCB Version 1.03

Please let me know how this can be solved?
Can I get whats needed to restore the origional FPGA/Firmware/EEPROM data ?
This issue makes the scope very annoying to use and not trust-worthy. And please look at the attached images.

Thank you,

Hello,

I have tried with this latest software. And the problem is still the same
I can see that the FPGA3.bin file is not changed in this new software, only the scope.exe and HTHardDll.dll.

Also, if I try to re-produce the problem, the new software isnt uploading the FPGA file. I used the old software to do so.And the LED is now blinking green. It used to be red.

Could it be that the cypres chip needs re-programming ?

Please let me know.

Please try to uninstall and reinstall the driver, and use the latest software.

Hello,

I have just un-installed the old driver & software. Deleted all their remaining folders in program files and system32 and restarted PC.
Then Installed the new driver and new software & restarted PC.
Powered on the Oscilloscope, plugged in the USB and run the new software.

And unfortunately the problem is still the same

I have also noticed that the software now reports PCB version 1.00. But I took a look inside the unit and it says V1.05. While the serial number is reported correctly. Please see attached photos.

This problem is really making this scope un-usuable.
