Title: DSO5102P Firmware update fail
Edited by RodHull at 2018-11-30 12:22

I've just updated my firmware (dso5kp_func_dso5102p20180120.up) on my DSO5102P but after its rebooted, most of the function buttons now result in a crash/reboot. Including the firmware update page

Can anything be done or is this scope now scrap?

System info before update.. Can't get to this page now, scope just crashes.

It has changed a little. Now RUN/STOP / Firmware update and system info brings up the firmware update window.. But still doesn't do anything even if you boot it with USB stick with dso5kp_func_dso5102p20180120.up on it. Video link below of its current status:

Sir, please unzip the attachment and copy the .up file to the root directory of the USB stick, and  ...

Thanks for the file.

It installs the update, but now crashes when u press System info or RUN/STOP if booted without USB.

It will reinstall update if u boot without USB stick.. Pressing RUN/STOP brings up Firmware update, if u insert USB now, it happily installs. But once it's reboot, it will crash if u try and use it.

Anything else worth trying?

In fact, even if you don't press any buttons, there should be an interface that prompts you to insert the U disk after booting up for some time.

Now, power on the scope, if you press RUN/STOP or system information buttons or do not press any buttons, will there be an interface that prompts you to insert the U disk before shutdown?
