5.2.6  To set up alternate triggers
The Alternate trigger mode splits the display horizontally and lets you trigger on two, non- synchronized signals.
1. Press TRIG MENU.
2. In the Trigger menu, press Type.
3. Continue pressing the Type softkey to select “Alternate”.
4. Press Select to select the channel to set up triggering on, either “CH1” or “CH2”.
At this point, the remaining items in the Trigger menu let you set up independent triggers for the selected channel.
For each source, you can set up edge, video, pulse width, or overtime triggering.
You can also specify other trigger setup options, except trigger sweep.

7. Press Overtime and turn the Multifunction Knob to adjust the overtime to trigger on. The range available is from 20 ns to 10 s.
8. Press Coupling and continue pressing the softkey to select the components of the trigger signal applied to the trigger circuitry:
? AC  Blocks DC components and attenuates signals below 10Hz.
? DC  Passes all components of the signal.
? Noise Reject  Eliminating noise from the trigger signal to prevent false triggering.
? HF Reject  Attenuates the high-frequency components above 80kHz.
? LF Reject  Blocks DC components and attenuates the low-frequency components below 8kHz.

6. Press Mode and continue pressing the softkey to select the sweep to trigger on:
? Auto Cause the oscilloscope to sweep, even without a trigger.
? Normal The oscilloscope only sweeps if the input signal reaches the set trigger point; otherwise the screen is frozen on the last acquired waveform.
7. Press Overtime and turn the Multifunction Knob to adjust the overtime to trigger on. The range available is from 20 ns to 10 s.
8. Press Coupling and continue pressing the softkey to select the components of the trigger signal applied to the trigger circuitry:

8. Press Vertical to select the desired vertical window:
?  V1 Adjust the trigger level 1.
?  V2 Adjust the trigger level 2.
Use Multifunction Knob to adjust the trigger level. During the adjustment, two green trigger level lines and two trigger marks appear on the screen and move up and down with the rotation of the knob, while at the same time, the trigger level value is displayed at the lower left corner of the screen. When stopping turning the knob, the trigger level lines disappear in about 2 s.
9. Press When and continue pressing the softkey to select the type of slope time to trigger on:
?   Slope time of the input signal is equal to the specified time.
?  ≠  Slope time of the input signal is not equal to the specified time.
?  >  Slope time of the input signal is greater than the specified time.
?  <  Slope time of the input signal is less than the specified time.
10. Press Time and turn the Multifunction Knob to adjust the slope time to trigger on. The range available is from 20 ns to 10 s.
