I just bought my 3254A and testing it with the test 1vp-p signal at the scope.
1. I set my scope the X10 1V use channel 1 only. After start then pause with 16k memory depth. the waveform become a X1 1V (10 times shorter).
2. then increase the memory depth to 160k. and then increasing  the time/Div from 20us one step by one step. the scope's refresh rate slower and slower(i can understand this), but it stop response after 200ms.
3. after  500ms. i can only get waveform by setting the memory depth as 16k. All other memory depth didn't response.
now my 3254A only work on 16k   memory depth.    i wish to use the full memory eventhough i needed waiting for a few minute to transfer the 16M memory.

Thank you.

I understand why i got no response.
i set    1.00ms Time/Div.   16M memory depth.   The scope will take 15sec data with 10us resolution.  which mean i set 100ms Time/Div, it will take 1500sec.. and 1 sec will be forever.

I suggest that the memory depth should go to increase the resolution frist. and then increase or fixed x2 Time/Div.  That will more easy to understand and use the scope.. Thanks a lots again.

The situation is that, if i want to take 1 sec data, i have to calculation the memory depth frist. and the decearse the Time/Div. START (i can only see the 1.00ms DATA since the Time/Div decreased) and STOP the scope. and enlarge the Time/Div back to 100ms Time/Div. ...
