Sir, in your picture, the connection is used for grounding.
Please connect the connection to ground to test.
If the problem exist, please tell me operation steps to stop working.

As it is a laptop, how good a condition (or worn) are the USB ports?
Just a thought.

Hello Amy,

The operation steps to stop the scope working working are with the scope running whether connected to the square waveform generator or not if I Just leave it running without doing anything it appears to just keep running. But If I alter the time/div setting a number of times it stops working, also if I move the trigger slope Up down tab it has also stopped working.

Initially when it stopped working if I uninstalled the software and drivers and then reinstall them it worked again, but not anymore. It's now not working at all, it's just giving the message on the screen that I have originally sent you a picture of.

The laptop is a Compaq with an Intel core i5 processor running the Windows 10 operating system.

It also has Norton 360 premier installed, which does not like the software downloaded from the Hantek site and tries to block / remove it, so I have to disable Norton to Install it.

I have tried both the disc that came with the 1008C which has on it software version 1.0.11 and does not have the vehicles tab on it when in use. And also I downloaded from Hanteks Website what appears to be their latest software version 1.0.12 which I take it has windows 10 drivers in it. Version 1.0.12 also has the vehicles tab on it when in use.

When the scope is unplugged the software appears to works in demo mode but when it is plugged in I get the message on the screen that I have originally sent you a picture of.

Hello Alan,

Laptop is not an old one and I've tried the USB cable in a couple of the ports.

Amy has asked for more information so I have included it in the post if you want to have a look.

Thanks for the continued help.

Regards

Wanvesta
