HT25COP secondary ignition probe

Hello. I would like to know what can be happening to the white plastic signal reciever (tip paddle of the probe) that is has become yellow. Also, what is the attenuation (decay) factor into these tool.

the attenuation is 10000:1,what measurements did you make before that caused it to turn yellow?do you have pictures?

Hello, Wangshuang. The change of color has been a progressing issue. It started with some very small spots of faint yellowish shadows at the top of the signal receiver. now the affected area (top of paddle) has clearly grown in size. Never I have smell fumes nor have stop collecting the signal, although the attenuation seem to have lessen if the factor is 10K as you pointed. I have only used the probe on COP coils, mainly two (2) wires coils. Will take pictures tomorrow to expand your understanding of my observation. Thanks for your help and interest.

Hi, Wangshuang. Reminder: do not confuse the HT25COP with the auto ignition HT25, which on the attenuation spec is 10000:1. One is inductive (HT25), the other HT25COP is capacitive type. For info. similar units made by Pico are 1000:1.

Thanks again.
